MS Cure Fund visited beautiful Burlington, VT for a program at the Windjammer Restaurant. Following the rants and raves of the establishment’s salad bar, guests enjoyed a seminar given by Dr. Angela ApplebeeDr. Applebee practices at Fletcher Allen Neurology. She is also the director of the MS Center of Northern New England Fletcher Allen/UVM. Being that she is one of the only MS specialists in this area, Dr. Applebee drew a sizeable crowd, lively with questions. Not only did Dr. Applebeegive a presentation, but her associate in the MS Center, Sandra McGrath, APRN, also provided guests with some great information.

Dr. Applebee focused on therapies alternative to the traditional medicinal prescriptions. She talked a great deal about the positive effects that a well-balanced diet and a lifestyle that incorporates regular exercise can help those with MS. While Dr. Applebee gave you advice for when you are not in the doctor’s office, McGrath gave a “Top 10 Ways to Improve Your Visits.” This list included making a list of concerns as well as being honest with your health care provider about symptoms, efficacy of therapies and the like.
