“New MS Therapies & Clinical Trials” Dr. Sloane

The MS Cure Fund visited the Merrimack Valley for an educational seminar by Jacob Sloane, MD, PhD. Guests enjoyed dinner at Princeton Station in Chelmsford, MA while Dr. Sloane shared his expertise of recent clinical trials and emerging MS therapies, particularly the oral medications. Dr. Sloane, who is a member of the Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians and on staff at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, provided great insight into the types of ongoing clinical trials in which patients could participate.

The liveliest part of the evening came towards the end when the conversation turned to the availability of support groups in different parts of the state. Several guests shared their experiences with different support groups – which were positive, which were negative and which ones no longer exist! In fact, quite a few participants shared support groups that they have started themselves. All of them can be found on our website’s event calendar, but here is one in particular:
